Personally, my biggest difficulty is in getting the whole family on board. Often we know what to do, it's a matter of remembering to do them…
Shawn, you hit the nail on the head for so many families. Maintenance is the key. After you get organized, “easy maintenance” is all about setting routines and guidelines for two things: what items you allow into your space and a timeline for once-in-a-while purging. Then, the task does not get so overwhelming. But, you still have to actually do the maintenance. Perhaps you could offer your family a reward for completing the maintenance – trip to the beach or lake or wherever you guys have a great time together – but not before your maintenance is finished! 🙂 Happy Organizing!
